It all started in the ‘70s when my brother asked me to help him make some furniture for his apartment. I was at uni, a textile major in the US and I ended up getting a patent for my frameless design. It involved internal supports and was unique at the time.
Amongst other things, I sold the patent rights to an Australian company and moved to Aust in the ’80s to show them how to manufacture. I’ve have been working with this company until I retired last year. We made beanbag related products which we (until a year ago) were selling to Kmart and Target. I won’t list all the products but they were nationally advertised and are well known. Last year, we closed down our manufacturing facilities and these are the products that were in production.
